"I have recently developed an appreciation for the possibility that there are cases where a toothache may, in fact, be the end result of a cascade of events that begin with stress-related physiologic disturbances. I believe that the accumulation of the physiologic consequences of maladaptive responses to stress can result in an exaggeration of inflammation with intensely painful results. There can be times when acute symptoms are very specific to a single tooth. In my experience, this type of pain can closely mimic that of a dental infection. Unfortunately, many patients receive treatment that is unnecessary and ineffective as a result of this type of misdiagnosis. I feel that I now have a resource in Respiras Breathing to help find solutions for such patients.
I have worked together with Roberto at Respiras Breathing to treat many patients with dental pain. Some of these patients have suffered from pain that has spanned years and even decades but did not respond to conventional dental treatment. Most of these patients are now pain-free or have minimal and manageable discomfort. It has been very rewarding to non-invasively resolve complex pain for patients who would have otherwise likely undergone unnecessary, expensive, and invasive treatments.
In addition to the favorable outcomes in addressing dental pain, the real beauty of the results I've seen is that patients have also reported improvements in other ways, including reduction of pain in other areas of their body, improved quality of sleep, and better daytime focus to name a few. While I am still learning the full extent of the relationships between habitual stress loading and dental pain, I consider Roberto and Respiras Breathing an essential part of my diagnostic and treatment team for my patients."
