RESPIRAS LEVERAGES PHYSIOLOGICAL MODELING TO SUPPORT HEALTH
"Breathing dysfunction should be examined alongside the stress shell shock encoded in the autonomic nervous system. These patterns must be overcome to improve function, reduce symptom severity, promote better health, and prevent disease."

Expertise and Training
Roberto Ricci, MS, OTR/L is an occupational therapist who specializes in CO2 biofeedback and applied breathing science for the treatment of respiratory, neurological, and stress-related disorders. His clinical focus is on addressing cumulative stress, autonomic dysregulation, and dysfunctional breathing patterns that often underlie complex, treatment-resistant conditions.
Originally from Peru, Roberto brings a multicultural and integrative perspective to clinical practice. He completed his undergraduate training in Occupational Therapy at California State University, Dominguez Hills. He later earned a Master of Science in Applied Breathing Science with distinction from the Graduate School of Behavioral Health Sciences in 2014.
Roberto has served as a consultant for the U.S. Army, where he trained soldiers on respiratory efficiency strategies for adaptation to combat-related stress and PTSD. His work emphasizes measurable interventions targetting respiratory-psychophysiological resilience and stress adaptation through CO2 regulation.
Roberto has presented at various national and international symposiums and continues to contribute to the advancement of breathing science in clinical settings. He is the founder of Respiras, an organization recognized for its dedication to alternative applied breathing science for health promotion and disease prevention. Respiras is known in the medical and dental fields for its 100 percent dedication to the correction of disordered breathing and stress overload in the autonomic nervous system. This may include discovering patterns behind medically unexplained symptoms, and degradation of health and oral systems.
Outside of his professional work, he enjoys outside activities, playing classical guitar, cooking Peruvian food, and spending time with his wife and son. At the heart of Roberto's mission is the restoration of joy, which he sees as a foundational element for individuals to experience a life rooted in faith, family, health, purpose, and inner peace.
